LIM Challange Week 41 - one layer - Leaves

Morning from a lovely day in the Loire, Tee Shirt weather, butterflies are still flying around and we even have a cornflower out and little purple violets just showing. My card this week reminds me of all the Poplar Tree leaves we have around us. They are grown as a crop here for use later to make the wooden apple and fruit crates.

I cut a strip of spare card and using my punches made a design, I taped it to the card and masked off the other area and used Tim Holtz distressed inks in Autum colours. I embossed two lines and stamped a small "Thinking of you" sentiment.

Thank you for last weeks comments on my card (not my best effort). Enjoy the rest of the weekend

LIM Challange Week 40 - Colours Red and Orange

Liquiamber (Red Oak)

Chrysanths Bed

Good Morning everyone, as I mentioned in my last weeks post about my Chrysanths I thought you would like to have a look at them. The first photo is a Liquiamber (Red Oak) we have several planted and I thought the colour fitted in very well with this weeks theme. The middle is a close up of the bush pink chrysanths and the last one is the bed itself. We counted about 160 plants. I keep picking them for flowers in the house, as we cann't see the bed from the house.

My card this week reminds me of them. A6 red pearlescant card, I punched and used distressed ink Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade on white, added a border I found on google and an orange gingham narrow ribbon and bow.

Have a good weekend

LIM Challange - Week 39 - Lucky Dip Stars

Morning from a very thick misty Loire Valley. This is the second day its been thick mist, yesterday it hung around all day, it does make me feel depressed, and also this week my lovely Laptop has died on me. Switched it on middle of the week and just got a black screen, I've tried everything with it to no avail, now waiting to see if my computer whizz son can find me a Dell windows 7 recovery disc. On a brighter note our bed of chrysanths in the garden is looking gorgeous, we must have about 150 plants almost all in bloom. The French buy pots of them this weekend to plant in the graveyards in memory of lost loved ones. Its "All Saints Day" on Tuesday, we wonder if they think we have many lost souls wandering.

My card this week was fairly simple, I could not get motivated first thing but after a trip to the supermarket I came back and had a rummage in my bit box and found this dark blue A6 card with an arched aperature window, found a piece of dark blue star paper and added a "Make a Wish". Die cutout.

Happy Halloween everyone and "Thank you" for your lovely messages on my cards last week.

LIM Week 38 - Polka Dots

Good Morning from a frosty Loire Valley. Had to take in a lot of my plants this week as this is the 4th morning we have had a frost. Still the sun is shinning and come this afternoon it will be warm again. Off to have yet another bonfire later, the frenchman who owns a small parcel of land with a lake adjoining our garden (we are separated by a small stream) has had a mamouth cutting of trees the last few weeks so we have followed his lead and cut a few of ours down too. More wood for our wood burner to keep us warm this winter.

Back to my card, I made this last week (very spooky) after I found the Cocktail brads I then found these polka dot ones in the shape of flowers. Four cardboard 1" squares covered with polka dots paper and added the flower shaped brads. Result a Birthday card suitable for any age. Hope you like it

Off to lit the bonfire

Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Good Morning LIMettes. Isn't it amazing what you can find when you are having a "sort out". Came across these "Cocktail" brads this morning and I could not resist using them. Card No 1 the paper is also a piece I kept "for a rainy day" added an orange brad and Youre Invited peel off. Card No 2 is just a piece of gold sparkly card again in my bit box and spaced the other four evenly across and also added You are invited.

Less is More - Week 37 - Cocktails

Evening LIMettes. I'm late posting today no excuses I've been enjoying the sunshine out in the garden. Lots of things to be done out there, collecting seeds and I've been splitting up my Chrysanths managed to get about 25 new plants out of about 6 bush ones that had started to go over. My effort this week is the LBD. I cut a Marianne Die out in Silver, found the die cut of a dress and coloured it black with promarkers, added a tiny piece of narrow white and black spotted ribbon and added a flower jewel. Quiet difficult to take a decent photo of it as the light from the silver card was reflecting.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend I am off for tea and then settle down to watch Strictly.

LIM Challange - Week 36 - One Layer Hearts

First of all an apology for not leaving many comments on fellow LIMettes blogs. My internet has been on a "go slow or slower" had a few problems trying to connect to anything at all some days. Its been a strange week all round really. Started off on Monday evening when the farmer from another village decided to move his beautiful "red" cows to another pasture just up the lane from our house. Instead of driving them in a cattle truck like he normally does he walked them instead, well I think the freedom was too much for them and they decided to run for it, managed to cause mayhem in our sleepy little hamlet of two houses, broke our fosse septic pipe and caused the farmer to drive through a hedge into the wood at the bottom of the garden taking the barbed wire with his truck. Our lovely French neighbour was "NOT IMPRESSED". The week went on in a strange way after this, lets hope next week will be better.
A very quick card this week done using Publisher. I found the image on google, copied and pasted it into publisher did a few alterations to the colour and added a sentiment and a few heart shaped jewels. I will try to do better next week.
Have a good weekend everyone

Lim Challange - Week 34 - Colour of your eyes

Good morning everyone, another lovely HOT day. I'm late today as we've been shopping and a visit to the garage was also called for as we have a faulty switch on our Kangoo. We are planning a trip to Southern Spain, don't know when, we have a small house in a town called Bullas, Nr Murcia and after trying to sell it for 3 years we have at last found a buyer. Yipeeeeee they have paid their deposit so now we wait for contracts and the signing should be sometime end October/Nov. My OH likes to be prepared.
My card this week is "Blue" the colour of my eyes. An english friend of ours is expecting to become a Great Grandfather again soon so I am getting prepared for either boy or girl. The boy card suited this challenge. A6 White Hammered, Landscape, Pale Blue Tag cut from a sizzix die, distressed with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Ink pad, letters are Sizzix Lollipop and Quickuts (can't remember what this one is called) Blue spotted paper glued onto cardboard, makes lovely chipboard letters, finished with spotted ribbon.

Enjoy the rest of this lovely weather.

LIM Challange - Week 34 - Sketch

Morning everyone, Thank you for the lovely comments left on my blog last week. Well done for almost getting the 1000 also. A brillant effort. I had several images cut out on my desk waiting for me to do something with them and when this mornings challenge came up I thought this one fitted the bill. Its from a male themed pad from "the englishpapercompany.co.uk" called Men at Work.
A6 card landscape. Footballer mounted on to black card and I added a football embellishment.

Off to sort out the washing as its a lovely morning here and hopefully it should dry beautifully. Love the smell of fresh washing dried outside.

LIM Challange - Week 33 - Anything Goes.

Good Morning Limettes. What a challange - my mind went blank when I read "Anything Goes" not unusual people would say.... but my MOJO seems to have gone, I blame it on my visit to the Dr's and the Blood Lab to have blood tests done. I swear they take a pint - it looks like it from the bruise I have on my arm. Anyway I digress my first card is a cuttlebug die cut. I used the piece left as a stencil and used silver as a shadow. The snowflake I embossed with "Rainbow Crystal" embossing powders and jewels added for a bit of sparkle.

Card No 2 is a stamp I found when having a sort out and coloured in (not brillantly) with water colours. Card No 3 is die cuts using Martha Stewart punch and punches flowers.

I may be back during the week depending on whether my MOJO returns. Good luck in getting the 1000 posts. Come on Limettes we can do it.

LIM Challenge Week 32 - Seeing Double

God Morning LIMettes and Thanks once again to Chrissie and Mandi for another interesting challenge and the lovely comments you left on my last weeks entry. This week I chose "Grapes" As you can see we have an abudance of them here. This vine is outside our house and acts as shade in the summer when we eat outside. They are for making wine (we have tried to do in the past - not successfully) My OH dug the original root up from our field/garden when we first bought the house planted it outside and 14 years later its gone mad. Anyway here is my card for this week:

A6 White Hammered. Computer generated image and the sentiment is from http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com

Have a good weekend
